Virtualizor TWO factor authentication Print

  • 0

Overview
Virtualizor, the VPS control panel, supports 2FA for both admin and end-user logins. This significantly reduces the risk of account compromise from stolen passwords.

Steps to Enable 2FA in Virtualizor (End-User):

  1. Log in to Your Virtualizor Panel

    • Typically via a link provided by your hosting provider (e.g., https://yourserverip:4083).

  2. Go to Account Settings

    • Click on your username (top right corner) and choose Two Factor Authentication from the menu.

  3. Enable 2FA

    • Select Enable 2FA.

    • A QR code will appear on the screen.

  4. Set Up in Authenticator App

    • Open your authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, Microsoft Authenticator, etc.).

    • Add a new account and scan the QR code.

  5. Verify the Code

    • Enter the 6-digit code generated by the app into Virtualizor’s verification field.

    • Click Enable 2FA or Save.

  6. Test the Login

    • Log out and log back in to confirm that the 2FA prompt appears.

Notes for Admin Users:

  • Admins can enforce 2FA for all users from the Virtualizor Admin Panel under Configuration → Master Settings → Two Factor Authentication.

Tips:

  • Keep a backup method to access your account in case your phone is lost.

  • Avoid SMS-based 2FA if possible; app-based 2FA is more secure.
